May 4, Reykjavik  --

I first came to Iceland in 1982 at the age of 18 as part of a youth basketball exchange. It was the beginning of a life-long friendship and fascination with the people & culture of Iceland.

That first trip ignited my interest in an international career and has led to a 37-year basketball journey with stops in Heidelberg, Geneva, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In late April of this year, I returned to the place where it all began.  It is at least my 15th time (I’ve lost count) visiting this unique and beautiful country. This time, I am accompanied by Coach Goode and we are running a month-long 3x3 program in partnership with the KR basketball club of Reykjavik.

KR is one of the oldest clubs in the country and has a rich basketball tradition. Last week, their professional men’s team won its 6th consecutive league championship.

The KR youth program has 350 basketball members between ages 7-20.
