Another successful FastBreak season comes to an end as we head into the holidays.

This fall, 18 teams represented FastBreak in the CBL with the majority of teams qualifying for the finals. For the second year in a row, FastBreak hosted finals at UWC East, our home court, with 18 games being played on both the semi-finals and finals weekends. After a long day of competitive match-ups, FastBreak was able to hold onto last seasons title as the club with the most overall medals won, with 4 golds, 2 silvers, and 3 bronze.

FastBreak girls had a particularly remarkable season in which all five teams advanced to finals. Our U11 Division 1, U13 Division 1 and U15 Division 2 teams fought their way into the championship game and made a clean sweep of all 3 golds. Additionally, the U15 Division 1 girls faced the Sharks in the bronze medal match-up and were able to collect bronze, the girls’ fourth medal of the day, to finish off their season.

Meanwhile, two of our three U11 boys teams brought home bronze medals. With this being the third medal earned by one of our younger teams, we have high hopes for the growth and development of this age group down the road.

Adding onto the boys medal tally were the U15 Division 4 boys. According to Coach Mesecke, this group of boys played in “the game of the season,” winning in double overtime against the Stingers to advance into the championship game. They fell short of gold but proudly accepted the silver medal for their division. The U18 boys Division 3 also took home a silver medal and our U15 Division 3 boys ended our day on a high note, securing Fastbreak’s fourth gold medal in the final championship game of the day.

A special thanks to all the players, coaches, and parents for another exciting season of basketball. The entire FastBreak family wishes you a happy and safe holiday, and we look forward to working with all of you again in the Spring.
